Academic Session and Costume and Culture Display Two developing features of the Symposium are the Academic Session and Costume & Culture Display. We'd like to encourage any Symposium attendee to share their knowledge, experience, and research.  For the Academic Session on Friday, we are looking for 20 minute presentations on any topic relating to Near and Middle Eastern Dance. We will have a way to show a MS Powerpoint presentation if needed. The Culture & Costume display area will open on Thursday and remain open until Sunday. If you have a static display, including copies of articles, you can place them in this area.

If you are interested in presenting or displaying, please send your topic area, title of presentation, and your contact information to Su'ad by May 15, 2007

 

Rooms and Meals: Air conditioned modern dorm rooms available on campus next to the Student Center (where classes will be held). The Dorm features clean rooms with shared bathrooms & shared showers. Meal option available in Dorm cafeteria in same building — a variety of food, including vegetarian choices for breakfast, lunch, dinner. See Registration Form for pricing.

Air travel: Largest nearby airport is Bradley International (BDL) located north of Hartford, CT. Another airport in Providence, RI is TF Green (PVD). Both have car rentals available.

Advertise your teaching or business or be a sponsor of the Symposium! Symposium booklet will be in half page letter format, black and white only. Ads due by May 15, 2007. Submit ads electronically in jpg or pdf format (small file formats, please) to Su'ad at nancysuad@rcn.com  Payment expected upon receipt of ad -- contact Su'ad to pay by credit card (MC, Visa, Discover) or to send money order.
